Hi! So I live in a second-floor apartment with no access to the actual ground, soil and everything (as most of the place has been cemented). My parent’s house, though, has a yard and stuff so I’m planning to dump/bury whatever I compost there.
Do I have feasible indoor options?
Is bokashi good? I read somewhere that it’s not exactly composting, more like fermenting the waste but it seems the best option to make use of my food scraps.
I’m also planning to properly segregate my trash but I don’t know what categories are the most efficient use of the trash. Note that I live in a third-world country that doesn’t have programs for composting or recycling.
The categories I’m thinking of are:
recyclables (items that can be sold/given to a junk shop)
non-biodegradable (plastic wrappers, paper with shiny/plastic lining, electronics, wires, non-recyclable plastic bottles)
any non-compostable biodegradable items (meat, bones, oils, seafood scraps like shrimp shells, shells)
and compost stuff (food scraps, paper, cardboard, hair??)
Does this make sense? is there a better system?
