The short answer to this question is that eco-friendly means friendly to the earth or the environment.
Usually we use this when describing products which help contribute to a ‘green’ environment. When you’re living an eco-friendly life, you do your best to prevent contribution to things like air pollution, water pollution, land pollution and so forth. It’s important that not only your products are eco-friendly, if you choose to live this life, but also your habits. There are certain habits which contribute to the pollution of different things. Think about your daily trip to work. Do you use the car? This is one of the methods we wouldn’t be calling eco-friendly. However, if you’re carpooling to work, so still driving a car but with multiple people needing to go to the same destination, this would be considered eco-friendly as you’re saving a lot of pollution by not each using your own car.
Another way to be eco-friendly, is to buy eco-friendly products. Lots of products are made without taking a single moment to wonder wether this is contributing to disturbing factors concerning the environment. You want to be buying products which are non-toxic and are biologically degradable. This way, your rubbish won’t stay around for several years to come and can be used by the environment to grow even stronger than it already was.
There are certain lifestyles which really take eco-friendly to it’s maximum by living, as they call it, zero-waste. This means you buy your products and live your life while making as little waste as you can. This takes a lot of effort as you’re supposed to end up with just a single jar of trash at the end of the year.
